removing my headlights / bulb replacement?

whats the best way to replace my head light bulbs on my 2000 Lightning? I did it on my 98 f-150 like 6 years ago but I dont remember the best way to do it... i do remember it was kind of tricky...

dude i just went out in the garage and looked at mine and i looks like a simple take out, from behind the headlamp under the hood. Make sure you pry open the connector not breaking it. You then may have to twist and pull or it may just slide out. Good luck, looks pretty simple ................YOU CAN DO IT!!!!!!!!! (Quote: The Water Boy):thumbsup:

i cant reach in there enough to just pull out the bulb conection from the back of the headlight and replace the bulb... Its too dark in my drive way and there is no room in my garage right now.. so i will have to do it tomorrow sometime...

+1 as Robert said......should be able to reach it from behind. BTW Justin, the rims look great in Black :thumbsup:

just pull the headlight assembly out... i did it for larry in the wingstop parking lot

hey... so I looked at roberts truck at the cruise and my lighting is slightly different... there is alot more room in the newer lightning to reach your hand inside and pull the bulb out but on mine you cant even get your fingers down there...

how do i pull the headlight assembly out?

ya actually..... the first time I tried doing it by pulling those tabs it was kind of dark out so I didnt see that they needed to be pulled out and up to clear that little notch on the tabs... so yesterday afterwork i tried again and the headlights pulled right out... it took me about 10 mins to swap the bulbs... but i have to take it apart again because my corner lights i ordered came in the mail today...

i ended up figuring it out once I looked at it in better light... its way too easy.. and I just put my new corners on a few minutes ago..

Glad you got it dun bro! Thats funny that the 99-00 Lightnings had lees room up there under the Radiator shroud.....:headscratch:
