For a Auto I would recommend getting 3.73.. it does not include AMSoil gear oil BUT you don't want to put in the AMSoil until you break in the gears anyways. And yes this deal is for Dec only.... :)

You'll need a T-lok for that power jump. We have a open diff. 3.73's on a open diff would be a nightmare.

:headscratch: is there a differance from a v-8 and a v-6 in the diff is that what you are saying?

When i comes to the mustang i know the V8's use a 8.8 inch rear diff and most V6's use the 7.6 inch (i know its in the 7 range, but forgot exact messurments) so u would have to get gears and an LSD (if your looking for one) that would fit your size diff.

Also remember when doing an LSD, that most stock diffs would use a 28 spline gear, and most LSD's are 31 spline...which means you'd have to upgrade the Axles to 31 spine also.

Not sure you needed the infor on LSD's, it kinda just poped out...lol

For the V6 it's not a bad idea to swap out rear end to a 8.8 from a GT....

The V6 has a 7.5 inch Open differential, while the V8 has a locked rear, so power is fed to both wheels, instead of one (ours is the right wheel.)

Do a burnout, you'll leave one tire track, the right side, on the road.

A 8.8 swap is a very popular mod, newtakeoff.com is where most people get them, plus they are stronger and can withstand more HP.

If it is for a ranger, i know someone who has a spare rear end, it just needs to be rebuilt...i can check for you and make a call?

He's got a V6 Mustang, like me.

All you will need is a Cobra Pinion flange (I think they supply it) and that baby will bolt right up. A lot of V6 guys on mustangforums have done a 8.8 swap.

I hear install is a breeze, most people do it themselves.

you are right I replaced one in my camero and I just needed help putting it in place but it was pretty easy . the only thing is it needs to be at the right angle
but mine just bolted right up.
